If you are considering cancelling your service with American Electric Power (AEP Energy), it's important to note that there may be a cancellation fee during a set term renewal, as specified in the renewal notice. However, there is no cancellation fee on a month-to-month basis. To cancel your service, you can easily do so through the AEP Energy website. Additionally, Xpendy also offers cancellation services for AEP Energy, but please be aware that this option comes with some costs.
Initial switches are free. We will charge a switch fee for subsequent switches, if applicable, to the provider you choose.
To cancel American Electric Power in Texas, contact your retail electric provider (rep) whose phone number can be found on your bill. Visit the American Electric Power website to cancel service. When moving to a new address, you can continue with American Electric Power or choose a different provider. Cancellation is also available through Xpendy, albeit with additional costs.
